November 2021: Brydon Swearengen & England (Missouri) announces that its partners, William “Trip” England, Dean Cooper and Charles Smarr, have been selected again for inclusion in the 2021 edition of Best Lawyers in America. Mr. Smarr is listed in Food and Beverage Law, Mr. Cooper in Energy Law, and Mr. England in Energy and Communications Law. Additionally, Mr. Smarr has been inducted into the National Conference of State Liquor Administrators’ (NCSLA) Hall of Fame. While there he focused on representing indigent and underserved members of the community by working with the Missouri State Public Defender, as well as participating in such programs as the University of Missouri School of Law Veterans Clinic and the Midwest Innocence Project.

July 2019: Jennifer Hernandez has joined Missouri member firm Brydon, Swearengen & England. Ms. Hernandez has a general administrative and civil practice with emphasis in the areas of public utility law and environmental law. She is a former assistant attorney general where she defended clients in complex litigation and served as counsel to the Missouri Air Conservation Commission, Safe Drinking Water Commission, and Hazardous Waste Management Commission. Ms. Hernandez has also worked at the Missouri Public Service Commission as staff counsel. She has extensive experience appearing before the Missouri Administrative Hearing Commission in matters involving the Department of Natural Resources and has appeared before the Missouri Public Service Commission in matters involving electric, natural gas, telecommunications, water and sewer utilities. Ms. Hernandez is a graduate of Vermont Law School.
