March 2023: CNPLaw announced that seven of the practices and twelve lawyers have been “Recommended by the Legal 500 Asia Pacific 2023.” The practices recommended are Banking and Finance, Capital Markets – Debt and Equity, Corporate and M&A, Dispute Resolution, Financial Services Regulatory, Investment Funds, and Labour and Employment. October 2022: CNPLaw announced it acted for a group of sellers in their divestment of a controlling stake in Rebonics Pte Ltd (“Rebonics”) to the leading recommerce group in Greater Southeast Asia, Carousell Group. Rebonics is the parent company of Laku6, an Indonesian electronics recommerce platform offering an online marketplace for buying and selling secondhand mobile phones. The transaction saw the exit of long-term individual and institutional investors in Rebonics, with Carousell Group stepping in with a US$25 million investment in Rebonics to bolster its growth in the Greater Southeast Asia electronics recommerce industry. The transaction was completed in July 2022. CNPLaw represented, among others, one of the co-founders of Laku6, Mr Alvin Yap, who commended CNPLaw for its team effort in seeing the transaction through to completion. The team involved in the transaction was Ken ChiaHazel Ho-TsastsinaSylvia Koh and Lai Zheng Yong. Ken Chia and Lai Zheng Yong acted for the founder-shareholders of Votiva Singapore Pte. Ltd. (“Votiva”) in the divestment of their entire equity stake in Votiva to Yokogawa Engineering Asia Pte. Ltd. (“Yokogawa”), a subsidiary of Yokogawa Electric Corporation, a Japanese multinational corporation in the business of providing industrial automation and control solutions. Votiva is the parent company of a group of companies in Southeast Asia, which provide IT consultancy and outsourcing services, including implementation of enterprise resource planning (“ERP”) and customer relationship management software. The acquisition propels Yokogawa’s expansion of its ERP services as it taps on Votiva’s existing offerings and networks to accelerate the implementation of ERP solutions for customers both within and beyond Southeast Asia. Following the completion of the transaction in September 2022, Votiva will be renamed to Yokogawa Votiva Solutions.

CNPLaw also announced that they have received various rankings for 2023 from Asialaw Profiles. July 2022: CNPLaw announced the firm advised the seller on the sale of all of the shares in CFM Alliance Pte. Ltd (“CFM Alliance”) in a transaction with a buyer consortium vehicle. CFM Alliance is a Singapore holding company with four Singapore subsidiaries (Classic Systems, Classic Moving, DSP Relocations Asia and The Family Movers) and a Malaysian subsidiary, and brings together highly accredited and reputable relocation and moving companies. Their mission is to provide clients the most comprehensive end to end relocation services, and to maintain industry leading positions as trusted and reliable partners with global reach. The lawyers advising the seller include Bill Jamieson – Partner. The firm also advised the founders of Singapore-based Intrepid E-Commerce Services Pte. Ltd. (“Intrepid”), a leading regional eCommerce and Digital solutions provider across South-East Asia, on the acquisition of Intrepid by Ascential plc, a FTSE 250 company and global leader in information, analytics and eCommerce optimisation. The team was led by Tan Min-Li supported by Ge XiaomengLorraine Liew, Nicole Leong and Andrew Eng. The initial cash consideration paid for Intrepid is US$57m, plus deferred consideration payable over four years, contingent on meeting certain financial targets, resulting in an estimated total consideration of between US$100m and US$197m, with the maximum total consideration payable for Intrepid, capped at US$250m. The firm advised Kratos Communications SAS (“Kratos Communications “) on the transfer of the satellite communications services business conducted through a branch in Singapore to a new subsidiary. Following the transfer, the Singapore subsidiary will continue to provide satellite services to customers in Asia Pacific. Kratos develops and fields transformative, affordable systems, platforms and products for national security and communications needs. Kratos is changing the way breakthroughs are brought rapidly to these markets through proven commercial technology approaches, including proactive research and streamlined development processes. Kratos is focused in areas where tech advances can have a force multiplier effect, such as unmanned systems, satellite communications, C5ISR, warfighter training and combat systems. The lawyers advising Kratos Communications included Bill Jamieson – Partner, and Li Zhong Sheng – Associate.

May 2022: CNPLaw announced they advised Adventus Holdings Limited, a company listed on the Catalist Board of the SGX-ST, on its placement of new shares in the capital of the company by way of an exempt offering, raising approximately S$3.2 million in gross proceeds. Low Wee Siong advised the client. Adventus Holdings is focused on the property and hospitality business, with current projects in Vietnam. SAC Capital Private Limited acted as placement agent. The placement, as well as the listing and quotation of the placement shares, was completed in April 2022. 

January 2022: CNPLaw announced the firm has been recognized as one of Singapore’s Best Law Firms for 2022 – based on endorsements by clients and peers in the legal industry – in the second edition of an annual survey conducted jointly by The Straits Times and international market researcher Statista. CNP was named among the most recommended firms in nine practice areas: Arbitration, Mediation & Dispute Resolution; Banking and Finance; Company & Commercial; Conveyancing; Inheritance & Succession, Private Wealth Management; Manpower & Employment; Mergers & Acquisitions; Real Estate; and Technology and Telecommunication. The firm also attained the highest recommendations (5 stars) in the areas of Mergers & Acquisitions and Company & Commercial.

November 2021: CNPLaw announced that Mr Daniel Koh has joined the firm as partner. Daniel recently retired as a judge in the Family Justice Court after an illustrious public service career spanning almost 40 years. Daniel will specialize in estate planning, Mental Capacity Act related matters, civil and criminal law litigation, mediation and arbitration. The firm also announced that Hazel Ho-Tsastsina and Hu Huimin have been promoted to partners. Hazel’s practice focuses on cross-border M&A, joint ventures, private equity and corporate advisory. She holds dual bar admissions in Singapore and in England and Wales and has advised various companies ranging from start-ups to MNCs. Huimin’s main area of practice is in general civil and commercial litigation with a specialization in matrimonial proceedings, family disputes and private client matters. She has considerable experience in high value divorces involving non-disclosure of assets, cross-jurisdiction assets and multi-million dollars assets.

October 2021: CNPLaw announced that the firm has been shortlisted as a finalist for ALB SE Asia Law Awards 2021 in the following categories. Banking and Financial Services Law Firm of the Year, Matrimonial and Family Law Firm of the Year, Singapore Intellectual Property Law Firm of the Year, Singapore Litigation Law Firm of the Year.  CNPLaw announced that the firm received the Recommended, “Recognised and Notable” rankings for 2022 from Asialaw Profiles for various practice areas and industry sectors. Three of its attorneys, Mr. Bill Jamieson (Investment Funds), Ms. Tan Min-Li (Capital Markets) and Mr. Amit Dhume (Investment Funds), have also been individually recognised. Developed by a team of researchers based in the region, Asialaw Profiles is the Asia Pacific’s definitive guide to regional and domestic law firms. CNPLaw announced that its Partner, Ms. Hazel Ho-Tsastsina, has authored the chapter on the Supply of Goods Act (Cap. 394) of Singapore for Annotated Laws of Singapore, a new flagship collection of legal commentary on local legislation published by LexisNexis Singapore.CNPLaw announced that the firm has been appointed to Council for Estate Agencies’ panel of law firms for the provision of legal services for a further two years. CNPLaw advised the founder of the Tenderfresh group of companies (“Tenderfresh Group”) on the divestment of a 75% stake in the business of Tenderfresh Group comprising, inter alia, central kitchens, restaurants and food stalls, to Kimly Limited, a company listed on the SGX-ST. The aggregate consideration of S$54 million was payable partly in cash, and partly via the issuance of new shares in the share capital of Kimly Limited. Prior to the acquisition, an internal restructuring was also undertaken to streamline the business operations of the Tenderfresh Group. The divestment was completed on 1 October 2021.CNPLaw acted as Singapore counsel for the Asia Pacific arm of a group of manufacturing companies based in Europe in its acquisition of a local group of engineering companies operating in Singapore. The Asia Pacific arm was recently formed as a result of the client’s merger with a leading manufacturer from East Asia and currently services the aerospace, automotive and medical industries in Asia Pacific. The acquisition was carried out in different tranches over three years, finally completing in June 2021 and sealing the client’s presence in Singapore. CNPLaw acted as Singapore counsel for Airobotics Pte Ltd in connection with the initial public offering (IPO) of its Israeli parent company, Airobotics, Ltd, on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange. Airobotics is an automated industrial drones company providing pilotless drone solutions to governments and industrial companies to remotely access aerial data. The IPO was successfully completed in September 2021. CNPLaw acted for Creadev International SAS (Creadev), a private equity investment firm, in its participation as lead investor in the series A fundraising round of Growthwell Foods, a Singapore plant-based food maker which manufactures plant-based alternatives to meat and seafood. The investment was finalised in September 2021 with over US$22 million being raised together with other major investors. The funding is intended to be used towards business expansion and product development efforts of Growthwell Foods within the region.  The CNP team was instructed by Mr François Communal, Chief Legal Officer of Creadev, and Mr Alan Zhu, Co-head of Creadev Asia, who commended the CNP team for its “unfailing assistance”, “dedication and reactivity” and “high-quality work”, and commented that “it was a real pleasure for us to work in such reassuring conditions”. CNPLaw acted for CITIC Telecom International (SEA) Pte Ltd (“CITIC Telecom”) in its amalgamation with Pacific Internet (S) Pte Ltd (“Pacific Internet”) which became effective on 1 July 2021. CITIC Telecom and Pacific Internet were both wholly-owned subsidiaries of Acclivis Technologies and Solutions Pte Ltd. Following the amalgamation, Pacific Internet is now the surviving entity and will continue to provide telecommunication services in Asia Pacific. CNPLaw was instructed by Wendy Yeo of CITIC Telecom who commended the team, saying “The CNP team has been very helpful and responsive in guiding us through the entire amalgamation process and we are very grateful to have them on our side.” Finally, CNPLaw announced that Mr. Daniel Koh has joined the firm as a partner. Daniel recently retired as a judge in the Family Justice Court after an illustrious public service career spanning almost 40 years. As a family court judge, he dealt with a wide range of family disputes, ancillary hearings, probate applications and contested lasting power of attorneys and deputyship appointment hearings under the Mental Capacity Act. He will be heading a practice group on Mental Capacity Act Advisory.

June 2021: CNPLaw announced that Who’s Who Legal (WWL) 2021 has recommended Managing Partner, Ms. Lisa Theng, in the practice area of Corporate Governance. Lisa continues to be one of the 13 lawyers in Singapore recognized by the publication for this practice area since 2020. The firm’s Intellectual Property practice has been ranked by Asian Legal Business for the sixth consecutive year. The IP practice has maintained its ranking with Trademarks and Copyright work receiving a Tier 2 ranking within the Singapore jurisdiction. Litigation Partner, Ms. Venetia Tan, has been listed as one of Asian Legal Business Asia’s Super 50 Dispute Lawyers. Partners, Ms. Tan Min-Li and Mr. Bill Jamieson, have been recognized in the 13th Edition of Best Lawyers in Singapore. Min-Li is recognized for Corporate Law and Mergers and Acquisitions Law and has been listed in Best Lawyers since the 2014-15 edition. Bill is recognized this year for Mergers and Acquisitions Law. Finally, CNP acted as Singapore counsel on the establishment of Hera Capital Partners Holdings VI Pte. Ltd., a Singapore domiciled fund, and on its investment in Nutrition Technologies. Nutrition Technologies is an AgTech company headquartered in Singapore and operating in Malaysia. Partner Bill Jamieson advised HCPHVI on the transaction.

March 2021: CNPLaw announced that for 2021, the firm has been recognized in the IFLR1000’s Thirtieth Edition, and has received “Tier 3”, “Tier 4”, “Other Notable” and “Active” rankings for various practice areas amongst other leading financial and corporate law firms in Singapore. Furthermore, their lawyers were recognized by the publication as “Highly Regarded” and “Notable Practitioner”. They also received a Band 4 ranking for their Investment Funds practice in the 2021 edition of Chambers Asia-Pacific and Partner Mr. Bill Jamieson, was recognized as a Notable Practitioner and ranked under Band 3. The firm also announced that two of their lawyers, Mr. Edwin Chia and Ms. Hazel Ho, have been listed as Singapore’s 21 Most Influential Lawyers Aged 40 and Under in 2020 by the Singapore Business Review. Additionally, seven of their practices and nine lawyers have been “Recommended by the Legal 500 Asia Pacific 2021.” CNPLaw acted as a lead counsel for the successful launch of Fraxtor Capital SPC, a segregated portfolio company with an investment focus in real estate investment opportunities. The firm acted for a rapidly-growing US e-sports gaming content creator on a strategic joint venture with operational partners in South East Asia, expanding their reach to the region for the first time outside of the US and South America where they currently operate. CNPLaw also acted for a Singapore-based digital platform operator on its series A funding from strategic industry players, boosting their expansion in Europe where they currently operate an online B2B marketplace for the trading of sports media rights. Additionally, CNPLaw acted for RELX Pte Ltd in a divestment of four exhibitions by PT Reed Panorama Exhibitions to PT Reed Exhibitions Indonesia as part of a business restructuring exercise. Finally, CNPLaw announced that Mr. Low Wee Siong has been appointed as a partner of the firm. Wee Siong has a wide and varied practice, encompassing corporate finance, capital markets, takeovers, mergers and acquisitions, banking and finance, and corporate governance. He has a dual degree and is professionally qualified in law and accountancy and was formerly an investment banker and auditor. 

December 2020: CNPLaw advised a selling shareholder on the divestment of his entire equity interests in a Singapore accounting and corporate services firm. The firm also advised Singapore-based technology services group, ADERA AI on its joint venture with recently delisted food and beverage (F&B) player, BreadTalk Group.  CNP announced that the firm has been appointed to be on the National Parks Board’s panel of law firms for the provision of legal services for three years. This appointment makes it the 10th Singapore government agency panel that CNP is on. CNP also advised Tech Data on its acquisition of the Innovix group of companies, a member of the Fortune Global 500-listed Jardine Matheson Group. CNP announced that the firm received the Recommended, “Recognised and Notable” rankings for 2021 from Asialaw Profiles for various practice areas and industry sectors. CNP further announced that the firm’s Mergers and Acquisitions practice has been ranked by Asian Legal Business (ALB) this year and has received a Tier 3 ranking within the domestic category.

October 2020: CNPLaw is proud to announce that Who’s Who Legal 2020 has recommended their Managing Partner, Ms Lisa Theng, in the practice area of Corporate Governance. In this edition, only 13 lawyers in Singapore are recognized for the practice area of Corporate Governance, and Lisa is one of the selected few.  CNPLaw LLP advised Axington Inc. in relation to a mandatory unconditional cash offer made by DBS Bank Ltd. for and on behalf of DORR Global Healthcare International Pte. Ltd. for all the issued and paid-up ordinary shares in the capital of the Company other than those already owned, controlled or agreed to be acquired by the Offeror and parties acting in concert with the Offeror, at a consideration of S$0.208 per Share.

July 2020: CNPLaw advised a leading German group in the marine shipping industry in respect of its strategic joint venture in Singapore with a ship management group based in Europe and operating in Asia. The joint venture was finalized in June 2020 and strengthens the parties’ existing working relationship in Europe with back-to-back arrangements under such joint venture. The CNP team involved in the transaction: Ken Chia and Hazel Ho. Also, CNPLaw acted as lead counsel for the successful launch of Dios AM Hessian Matrix Global Fund SP (“SP”), which will invest primarily in multiple asset classes across the G20 and Asia. The SP is the third segregated portfolio of Dios Asset Management SPC, a Cayman Islands domiciled segregated portfolio company. June 2020: CNPLaw is proud to announce that the firm has been appointed to be on the Singapore Medical Council’s (SMC) Panel of Legal Assessors for the second consecutive year. CNPLaw also advised a local private real estate fund on its joint venture for a real estate investment project in respect of commercial and industrial property in Singapore. The joint venture leverages the breadth of expertise of the Client’s group of companies to manage assets and property in Singapore. The target property is envisaged to be developed based on similar concepts and design established by the Client in the current property market. CNPLaw acted as Singapore counsel to a local online e-commerce platform operator in its series B fundraising exceeding S$3.5 million from key market players. This strategic investment was completed in May 2020 and allows the Client to leverage on the investors’ strong presence in Asia Pacific. Having advised on previous fundraising rounds, the Client commended CNP for its help as CNP continues to support the Client in its rapid regional expansion with this successful milestone.

May 2020: CNPLaw is proud to announce that our partner, Ms. Tan Min-Li, has been recognized in the 12th Edition of Best Lawyers in Singapore for Corporate Law and Mergers and Acquisitions Law. April 2020: CNPLaw advised a Singapore graphic design company with headquarters in the U.S. on securing additional financing via a share subscription by a foreign investor. The transaction was completed in January 2020 and is a significant capital injection for such a company with a value of over S$70 million. Advising on the transaction was CNPLaw‘s Partner, Mr. Ken Chia, and Senior Associate, Ms. Hazel Ho.

February 2020: Singapore member firm CNPLaw’s corporate advisory team ended 2019 and started 2020 strong with the completion of three private equity transactions. The first involved its representation of one of Japan’s leading fresh produce distributors in its investment of over S$30 million in a Singapore company; the second, a Hong Kong-listed pharmaceutical company in its investment of S$2 million in a Singapore biotechnology company; and the third, a Singapore biotechnology company in its series B funding of S$15 million from US and Japanese venture capital firms. Leading the team was Ken Chia, assisted by Hazel Ho and Muhammad Parasuram. Managing Partner Lisa Theng also assisted in the transactions. January 2020: Cinda Sim and Wong Pei-Ling have been named partners at Singapore member firm CNPLaw, bringing the total number of partners in the firm to 18. A conveyancing lawyer, Ms. Sim has been in the thick of many “breakthroughs” in Singapore real estate law, including the collective sales trend of private estates, the birth of executive condominiums in Singapore, and the conversion of land in Singapore – once largely unregistered – to the Torrens system of land registration. She graduated from the Faculty of Law of the National University of Singapore. Ms. Wong advises clients with Malaysian and Singaporean interests on cross-border transactions, joint ventures, investments, and commercial and technology agreements. She is qualified to practice law in Singapore and Malaysia and was called to the Bar of England & Wales in 1996. Previously, she was head of legal and compliance for a Malaysian business outsourcing company with clients across Asia, the United States and Europe.

October 2019: Singapore member firm CNPLaw has been ranked in Asialaw Profiles 2020 in capital markets, investment funds, labor and employment, private equity, banking and finance, corporate and mergers and acquisitions, dispute resolution, and regulatory. Two of its attorneys, Bill Jamieson (investment funds) and Tan Min-Li (capital markets), have also been individually ranked. Developed by a team of researchers based in the region, Asialaw Profiles is the Asia Pacific’s definitive guide to regional and domestic law firms.

September 2019: Jimmy Yap has joined Singapore member firm CNPLaw as a partner, taking the number of partners at the firm to 16. Mr. Yap was admitted to the Singapore bar in 1991. He previously served as a magistrate and deputy registrar at the state courts. As a judicial officer, he presided over as well as mediated a wide spectrum of civil and commercial disputes. He was also a senior legal consultant with Angeline Suparto Law Corporation, focusing primarily on Indonesia-related investment and commercial transactions. Mr. Yap is currently on the panel of accredited adjudicators with the Singapore Mediation Centre. He also serves on the panel of arbitrators under the Law Society Arbitration Scheme, associate mediator under the Law Society Mediation Scheme, and a neutral under the Law Society Neutral Evaluation and Determination Scheme.

August 2019: Singapore member firm CNPLaw represented CBMM Supply Services and Solutions Pte. Ltd., a mining and quarrying supply services and solutions provider headquartered in Singapore, on its seed fundraising involving equity injections of $1,000,000 by United Arab Emirates and United States institutional investors.  The transaction was completed in April. Partner Ken Chia, senior associate Hazel Ho and associate Adrian Toh advised CBMM in this transaction. The firm also acted as lead counsel for the successful launch of Fraxtor Capital SPC, a Cayman Islands-domiciled segregated portfolio company with an investment focus in real estate investment opportunities. The fund employs a blockchain-enabled co-investment platform for investors to invest in “byte-sized” global real estate investment opportunities otherwise out of reach. The fund has successfully launched its first segregated portfolio focused on the development of a residential real estate investment project in Singapore. It is only offered to high net worth persons. Advising the fund were partner Amit Ramkrishn Dhume, associate Abel Ho and practice trainees Joy Tan and Neeti Relan.  

July 2019: Singapore member firm CNPLaw recently represented a local online e-commerce platform operator with regional presence in its series A fundraising involving equity injections exceeding S$6 million by global investors. Partner Ken Chia, senior associate Hazel Ho and legal executive Susannah Dobbie advised the client in this transaction. CNPLaw also advised Malaysian listed company AYS Ventures Berhad through its wholly owned subsidiary AYS Capital Sdn. Bhd. in its acquisition of Steelaris Pte. Ltd., a steel products supplier in Singapore. Partner Ken Chia, senior associate Hazel Ho and associate Adrian Toh (Associate) advised AYS Ventures Berhad in this transaction. Finally, CNPLaw advised Koh Tian Yeow,  sole proprietor of Deskright Office Supplies, the leading single-source contract stationer for office supplies to organizations and government agencies in Singapore, on the sale of DeskRight’s head entity, DeskRight Pte. Ltd. and its two subsidiaries, I-Pacific Office Pte. Ltd., and Jaya Stationary Supplies Pte. Ltd., to France-based global distributor of workplace supplies solutions, Lyreco Group. The sale of DeskRight to Lyreco’s Singapore established entity, Lyreco Pte. Ltd, will enhance Lyreco’s current ranking as a leading provider of office supplies. Mr. Koh, who will stay on as managing director, will continue to oversee DeskRight’s operations in Singapore. Partner Ken Chia, senior associate Wong Pei-Ling, associate Jolyn Wah and legal executive Susannah Dobbie advised Mr. Koh in this transaction.

May 2019: Colin Ng & Partners last month announced the retirement of its founder and chairman, Colin Ng. Widely considered one of Singapore’s top corporate lawyers and recognized among the top 100 lawyers by Asia Business Law Journal, he founded the firm in 1988. With Mr. Ng’s retirement, the firm now be known as CNPLaw LLP. Also at CNPLaw, partner Tan Min-Li has been listed in The Best Lawyers 2020 edition for corporate law and mergers and acquisitions law in Singapore. This is the sixth consecutive year she has been listed.

March 2019: Singapore member firm Colin Ng & Partners has been ranked in The Legal 500 Asia Pacific 2019 in banking and finance, capital markets, corporate and mergers and acquisitions, dispute resolution, investment funds, and labor and employment. In addition, Venetia Tan, Kenn Lim and Christopher Huang have been named by Singapore Business Review to its list of Singapore’s 20 most influential lawyers 40 and under. Ms. Tan is a partner in the firm’s dispute resolution practice group, specializing in international arbitration, litigation, and advisory work on international and local commercial disputes. Mr. Lim is a partner in the corporate advisory practice group, focusing on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, corporate advisory, cross-border investments and venture capital and private equity transactions. And Mr. Huang heads the firm’s tax and advisory practice group, where he focuses on mergers and acquisitions, corporate advisory, and shareholder disputes. He is also a tax advisor at CNP Tax and Advisory.

February 2019: Singapore member firm Colin Ng & Partners recently advised Fund Singapore on the pre-IPO investment round of Biolidics Limited’s listing on the Catalist Board of the Singapore Exchange. The IPO launch is set to raise approximately S$6.1 million in net proceeds, which will be used in developing the company’s clinical services applications and customer segment of Biolidics’ products. It will also advance its pipeline products through in-house development, investments, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and strategic collaborations. Partner Christopher Huang, senior associate Randall Perera and associate Rajkumar Mannar advised Fund Singapore on the negotiation of the pre-IPO series C investment. 

January 2019: Singapore member firm Colin Ng & Partners recently represented Singapore-based vending solutions provider Kalms in a 50-50 joint venture with celebrity chef Justin Quek’s JQ Global restaurant consultancy. The new company, Chef & Chefs, will produce premium ready-to-eat meals for sale via vending machines and will become the exclusive distributor of such products. This JV will allow Kalms to have more control over its product range, thus enabling it to reap gains through its direct involvement from production to sale. Colin Ng partner Ken Chia and associate Joey Ho advised Kalms on the JV.

September 2018: Singapore member firm Colin Ng & Partners advised Eggriculture Foods on its listing on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, pursuant to which 125,000,000 shares were offered at an offer price of HK$0.50 per share, raising approximately HK$33.9 million in net proceeds. Eggriculture is a Singapore-based group principally engaged in the production and sale of egg products. Partner Tan Min-Li, along with senior associate Low Zhi Ni and associate Jennifer Lo, advised Eggriculture on the listing. Ms. Min-Li and Stephen Soh, along with senior associate Low Zhi Ni, associate Jennifer Lo and paralegal Samuel Ling, also advised and acted as solicitors for Synagie Corporation in its initial public offering on the Catalist Board of the Singapore Exchange Securities Trading Limited. The IPO raised approximately S$11.6 million in gross proceeds and S$9.8 million in net proceeds, which will be used for business expansion. Synagie is Southeast Asia’s leading digital commerce enabler in the body, beauty and baby sector and also the fastest-growing digital commerce start-up in Singapore. It has more than 250 brand partners in the sector including Johnson & Johnson, Kimberly-Clark and Shiseido.

July 2018: Edwin Chia, Kenn Lim and Christopher Huang have been named partners at Singapore member firm Colin Ng & Partners. Mr. Chia’s practice focuses on civil and commercial litigation, disciplinary proceedings, wills and probate, shareholders’ disputes, and employment matters. He has been involved in matters at all levels of the Singapore courts, and has acted as lead counsel in matters before the High Court of Singapore and disciplinary tribunals. Mr. Lim’s practice covers corporate and commercial transactions such as mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, cross-border investments and private equity transactions. Mr. Huang specializes in tax law and heads the firm’s tax practice group. These promotions take the number of partners at the firm to 18.

May 2018: Singapore member firm Colin Ng & Partners’ intellectual property practice has been ranked by Asian Legal Business for the fourth consecutive year. Its trademarks and copyright work has received a Tier 2 ranking and its patent work a Tier 3 ranking in Singapore. The firm’s intellectual property practice is headed by See Tow Soo Ling and has also been accorded recognition by several other well-known publications such as World Trademark Review and Chambers and Partners Asia Pacific. Asian Legal Business draws information from firm submissions, interviews, editorial sources and market data to identify and rank the top firms for intellectual property in Asia.

January 2018: Singapore member firm Colin Ng & Partners’ mergers and acquisitions practice has once again this year been ranked in Asia Legal Business’ M&A Rankings. The rankings are based on the volume, complexity and size of work undertaken, presence across Asia, key personnel hires and growth in the practice, key clients and new client wins, as well as the firm’s visibility and profile in the region. Singapore leads Southeast Asia’s mergers and acquisitions market, accounting for over 70% of the region’s mergers and acquisitions in the first half of 2017.

October 2017: Quek Li Fei, a partner at Singapore member firm Colin Ng & Partners, has been named to the 2017 Citywealth Leaders List. Mr. Quek is head of the firm’s private client and banking and finance practices. He has been nominated for inclusion on the Citywealth Leaders List every year since 2009. The Citywealth Leaders List is a directory of leading professionals in the private wealth management and private client industry. The list brings together lawyers and other professionals who deal with private clients with fortunes in excess of £20 million but often up to several billion. Inclusion on the list is through recommendations from peers, recognition of expertise within the sector and from ultra-high net worth individuals.

June 2017: Colin Ng was unanimously approved by the membership of SCG Legal last month as the network’s Singapore member firm.
