January 2022: Mitchell Silberberg & Knupp LLP (California: Los Angeles) announced it has elected three lawyers to Partnership: Stephen A. Blaker, Christopher Elliott, and Louise Truong. Stephen is a member of the Immigration practice group where he focuses on employment and family-based nonimmigrant and immigrant petitions for a multitude of industries. Christopher is a member of the Litigation practice group, focusing on commercial and entertainment litigation. Louise is a member of the Labor & Employment practice group. She represents employers ranging from Fortune 50 companies to start-ups in a variety of employment disputes involving wrongful termination, harassment, whistleblower, discrimination, trade secrets misappropriation, and wage and hour class action and PAGA claims.
June 2021: Mitchell Silberberg & Knupp (Los Angeles, CA) has elected three partners as co-chairs of the firm. Lucia Coyoca, David Steinberg, and Greg Hessinger will succeed current co-chairs Kevin Gaut and Nimish Patel. Lucia is a litigation partner with extensive trial experience, her practice involves entertainment industry disputes and insurance coverage work. She also represents employers in wrongful termination, discrimination, and sexual harassment cases. David is a partner in the entertainment & IP litigation practice and is known for his work on intellectual property issues focusing on copyright, trademark, anti-circumvention/Digital Millennium Copyright Act, unfair competition, and trade secrets. He also has extensive experience in entertainment and general business litigation. Greg is a partner in the labor and employment practice and represents a variety of regional and national employers in all aspects of labor and employment law. Prior to returning to private practice 15 years ago, Hessinger was the executive director of each of the two largest performers’ unions, the Screen Actors Guild and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, which have since merged.
December 2020: Mitchell Silberberg & Knupp (Los Angeles, CA) has expanded both its entertainment industry labor and employment practice and its corporate group with the addition of Ann Calfas as a partner in Los Angeles and Andrea Cataneo as a partner in New York.

August 2019: Nationally recognized labor attorney Alan Brunswick has joined Los Angeles member firm Mitchell Silberberg & Knupp, where he will focus on representing clients in the media and entertainment industries. Mr. Brunswick’s extensive experience spans a wide variety of matters, including managing complex negotiations and disputes involving production companies, advertisers, video game companies, talent agencies, and entertainment industry associations and guilds. He is the former vice president and in-house counsel for the Association of Motion Picture & Television Producers. Mr. Brunswick is a graduate of Georgetown University Law Center.
March 2019: Autumn Ronda has joined Los Angeles member firm Mitchell Silberberg & Knupp as a partner in its tax and trusts & estates practice group. Ms. Ronda specializes in designing and implementing complex tax and estate planning strategies for her clients. She brings extensive experience in planning for cross-border transfer and income tax issues, including pre-immigration tax planning. She also manages sophisticated trust and probate administration matters. Ms. Ronda is designated by the legal specialization board of the State Bar of California as a certified legal specialist in estate planning, trust and probate law. She received her J.D. from Southwestern Law School (Los Angeles), an M.B.A. from Loyola Marymount University (Los Angeles) and an LL.M. in taxation from Loyola Law School (Los Angeles).
February 2019: California (Los Angeles) member firm Mitchell Silberberg & Knupp client Vicente Capital Partners, a Los Angeles-based private equity firm, sold a controlling interest in Intellectual Technology, Inc., to Arlington Capital Partners, a Washington, DC-based private equity firm. ITI has over 25 years of experience developing solutions for motor vehicle agencies throughout North America to increase the safety and security of motor vehicle transactions. VCP and members of ITI’s management team rolled over minority equity stakes into the acquiring entity controlled by Arlington. Firm partner Marc Jones served as lead legal counsel to VCP and its portfolio company ITI in the transaction. The firm advised on all aspects of the auction process and sale, as well as the rollover reinvestment by VCP and other ITI stockholders. Mr. Jones and associate Bryan Wasser also advised VCP on its initial acquisition of ITI in 2012 and they have acted as general counsel to ITI since that time.
January 2019: California (Los Angeles) member firm Mitchell Silberberg & Knupp has named John Exner IV, Bradley Mullins, Brett Thomas, and Sarah Taylor Wirtz as partners in its Los Angeles office. Mr. Exner is an experienced immigration attorney, with a practice dedicated primarily to the representation of businesses of all sizes, as well as individual clients, in a variety of employment-based and family-based immigration matters. He received his J.D. from St. Mary’s University School of Law. Mr. Mullins focuses his practice on copyright, trademark and contract and commercial disputes. He received his J.D. from Columbia Law School. Ms. Thomas counsels employers in all areas of employment law, including hiring practices, discipline, investigations of harassment or other wrongdoing, terminations and layoffs, personnel policies, leaves of absence, disability accommodation, wage and hour issues and contract negotiation and drafting. She received her J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law. Finally, Ms. Wirtz represents management in a variety of labor and employment matters, including discrimination, harassment, wage and hour, retaliation and wrongful termination. She received her J.D. from the University of California Los Angeles School of Law.
October 2018: Jeremy Mittman has joined Los Angeles member firm Mitchell Silberberg & Knupp as a partner in its labor and employment department. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Mittman represented management clients for 15 years in a broad range of employment-related matters in the financial services, security services and media and entertainment industries. He also specializes in privacy and data security, and a significant part of his practice focuses on international employment matters involving such issues as data privacy in global human resources information systems, multi-country employment contracts, international background checks, terminations and other employment-related matters. Mr. Mittman regularly assists clients in complying with the EU Data Protection Directive and has substantial experience drafting safe harbor certifications to the U.S. Department of Commerce, as well as model contractual clauses to comply with EU law. He received his J.D. from the University of Southern California Law Center.
January 2018: Melanie Figueroa of Los Angeles member firm Mitchell Silberberg & Knupp has been named to Crain’s New York Business’ 2018 list of leading women lawyers in New York City. The list recognizes 100 legal trailblazers who have “found multiple paths to excellence.” Ms. Figueroa is managing partner of the firm’s New York office. Her practice focuses on representing public and private companies in securities regulation, mergers and acquisitions, corporate financing transactions, including PIPEs, underwritten IPOs and follow-on public offerings, in addition to IPO alternatives such as reverse mergers. The New York Law Journal in 2017 named her a “Rising Star,” and in 2016 Profiles in Diversity Journal named her one of its “Women Worth Watching.”
