scglegal

It’s hard to believe how much has already happened this year.

Last month, SCG hosted its Midyear Meeting, bringing together more than 80 network members representing over 35 independent law firms from more than 20 countries, including 14 U.S. state members. Whether you joined us or were unable to attend, you can click HERE to access all event presentations and additional materials. On behalf of SCG’s Board of Directors and my team, I would like to sincerely thank everyone who attended the meeting. We would also like to extend our deep appreciation to Hall & Wilcox for graciously hosting us.

In today’s environment of heightened political, regulatory, and economic uncertainty, staying connected is more important than ever. Our focus remains on supporting one another and helping our firms and clients succeed amid increasingly complex global conditions. SCG Legal members are leading the way—providing exceptional legal, regulatory, and strategic advocacy counsel across regions and industries worldwide. As our network continues to grow, and as our in-person and virtual gatherings deepen relationships and strengthen collaboration, we are creating lasting advantages for our members and their clients.

Below are our upcoming events. We are always looking for new opportunities to collaborate, so please feel free to reach out to me at agorokhovsky@scglegal.com with your thoughts, ideas, and feedback on our current activities.

NEW PARTNERSHIP WITH LEGORA – AI-POWERED WORKSPACE
In June, we will be launching a pilot program for members interested in testing Legora for a 30-day period at no cost. As you may know, Legora is an SCG-vetted partner, with many of our firms already using the platform. Legora is an AI-powered legal workspace that helps lawyers review documents, conduct research, and draft contracts more efficiently. It combines document analysis, legal research, and drafting tools—integrated directly into Microsoft Word—while enabling teams to collaborate and generate insights from both internal and external legal data sources. Click HERE to learn more about Legora and HERE to learn more about the pilot program. For context, Legora is comparable to other AI-powered legal tools such as Harvey, CoCounsel, and Copilot, but it also offers several additional features that may serve as key differentiators for our firms.

The one-month pilot is designed to give firms a meaningful opportunity to evaluate the platform and assess its value in practice. After the pilot—for firms who would like to form a formal relationship with Legora—based on demand and the number of licenses requested, participating firms will receive a discount of approximately 25–30% for the first contract term. I will be sharing additional information with your firm’s SCG Legal Voting Representatives and IT leads. In the meantime, if you or your firm are interested in learning more about Legora or participating in the pilot, please feel free to email me directly at agorokhovsky@scglegal.com or fill out the registration survey HERE.

SCG LEGAL WEBINARS
Turning Legal Market Data into Revenue Strategy
May 13 @ 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM EST
Law firms have unprecedented access to market intelligence, yet many struggle to convert insight into sustained growth. In this webinar, we will examine where strategy commonly veers off course and how firms can establish guardrails to stay aligned. Attendees will leave with a practical framework for translating market data into client development priorities, strengthening practice leader accountability, and implementing a disciplined cadence that turns strategy into measurable revenue results. Click HERE for additional information and to register.

Why I Find You Irritating: Navigating Generational Friction at Work
June 25 @ 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM EST
Please note: this webinar will not be recorded. This is your only opportunity to participate in this highly practical and thought-provoking session.
Are your colleagues from distinctly different age groups? Are you sometimes baffled or frustrated by their decisions and behaviors? You are not alone. Since the workplace is made up of multiple generations, you are likely to experience generational friction firsthand. But let’s be clear: these are not problems to fix. Rather, they are differences to understand, appreciate, and ultimately, embrace. Click HERE for additional information and to register.

REMINDER: REFERRALS
As you know, it can take numerous interactions to build the rapport and establish the trust that enables client referrals. Once that foundation is laid, referrals become nearly seamless, and Members invest in each other’s success naturally. As Member-to-Member client referrals occur, please help SCG track them. Doing so is critical to:

  • Offer a clear picture of membership value, especially for annual Member firm renewals and prospect Member firm invitations;
  • Ensure acknowledgement of/credit to the referring firm; and
  • Ensure the firm receiving a referral has an opportunity to profile their practice/s.

Please BCC SCG CEO Alina Gorokhovsky (agorokhovsky@scglegal.com) on any referral emails. If that’s not possible because of client confidentiality, please send her a separate email letting her know the firm you referred the client/matter to and, as able, the related practice or industry. If you have any questions/ suggestions about this request, please contact her directly.

JURISDICTION GUIDES & DIRECTORIES.
To support a greater understanding of business and legal considerations in different jurisdictions around the world, SCG produces regional- and practice-focused guides as well as offering the opportunity for individual firms to promote their expertise. NOTE: Document names are linked to the documents.

JURISDICTION GUIDES

PRACTICE GROUP DIRECTORIES
