SCG Legal February 2026 Newsletter
I hope you are all doing well. We are currently finalizing the program for our upcoming Midyear Meeting in Melbourne, and—given everything happening globally—this gathering comes at an especially important time. The meeting will provide a valuable opportunity to connect across firms and practice areas, exchange perspectives, and focus on how we can work together more proactively to generate new business opportunities. For this meeting, we are on track to welcome participation from all 14 of our Asian and Pacific Rim member firms, representing 74 offices and more than 3,000 attorneys across the region. In addition, we expect approximately 11 firms from Europe, more than 10 from the United States, and several from Latin America and Canada, making this a particularly well-connected and high-value meeting. We have also finalized plans for SCG’s Annual Cocktail Reception in London, hosted in conjunction with the INTA Annual Meeting. If you or members of your firm will be in London on Sunday, 3 May 2026—whether for INTA or other business—I hope you will join us to reconnect with colleagues across the network. NEW MEMBER FIRM: SCG Legal continues to expand strategically across key countries and regions. We will share details through any/all appropriate online mediums (e.g., The Weekly Roundup, bi-monthly e-newsletters, LinkedIn) as well as on our Region, Practice, and Affinity group calls.
REMINDER: REFERRALS
As you know, it can take numerous interactions to build the rapport and establish the trust that enables client referrals. Once that foundation is laid, referrals become nearly seamless, and Members invest in each other’s success naturally. As Member-to-Member client referrals occur, please help SCG track them. Doing so is critical to:
- Offer a clear picture of membership value, especially for annual Member firm renewals and prospect Member firm invitations;
- Ensure acknowledgement of/credit to the referring firm; and
- Ensure the firm receiving a referral has an opportunity to profile their practice/s.
Please BCC SCG CEO Alina Gorokhovsky (agorokhovsky@scglegal.com) on any referral emails. If that’s not possible because of client confidentiality, please send her a separate email letting her know the firm you referred the client/matter to and, as able, the related practice or industry. If you have any questions/ suggestions about this request, please contact her directly.
